He epitomize pure  r n b sound and he is proud to rep it to the fullest . in this exclusive interview done by ayodeji falade capital femi reveals why he stick to
his r n b trademark in his just released, the year of r n b album. enjoy it

Can you tell us about your new album, is a totally r and b album or a mix of every genre
capital femi;  it  is definitely what it is;  it is tittled the year of  r n b, you definitely get r and b in different flavour, it is r and b been express my way, the way that I know it, so that is what you expect from the album. A lot people  would  expect you to give them a mix of other genre  going by what is prevalent in the music we hear  today, why did you decide to stick to a total  r and b album ?
capital femi : because you have to be who you are no matter what is going on, you have to always pave your own lane, with GOD and people working hard all  things are possible.
we have seen some of nigeria  r and b acts  experiment with other genre just to stay relevant , what to you have to say of this trend?
Capital femi; everyone has to make their own choice, r and b is my thing,  r and b is the  thing that has moved me from the beginning, r and b is in everything, is in hip hop,is  in pop, is in rock and roll music, r and b goes with other genre, it depend on how you deliver.
most record label often compel their artiste to do the kind of music that is very relevant at a particular period, where you ever pressurize rise to imbibe reigning music trend ?
Capital femi;  everything you do is about making sales, whatever you do, you want to make money and take care of yourself, my label took me knowing exactly what i am, knowing that I do r and b.
How does it make you feel knowing that you are different from other acts doing regular music.
capital femi : for me believe I am doing what i like doing  and I  think everybody should be expecting it well, the album is exactly what is it, the year of r and b.
A lot Nigerian acts are going international, as someone coming from America, what is your take on the this trend?
Capital femi  the plan was to start from home then definitely branch out, we are definitely looking at that, i know things are definitely around the corner with us touching into the international market with my music.
if you are going to do an international collaboration which artiste would you love to work with ?
Capital femi ? they are a lot, on the hip hop side, my favorite is jay z, if it has to be an r and b act, there is a few people i love, all the way down to neyo, john legend, joe, it goes on and on and on.
we know r  and b is a very a  wonderful genre how do you think   r anb can compete favorably with other acts doing well in other genre of music
femi Capital : it is not just a good brand, it is a great brand, the truth about  is just that we have to keep executing , the thing you do, do it well, the truth of the matter is, everybody love is an r and b lover, you can go to the street and ask of r Kelly, donell jones, joe, they know this guys, we just need to put our own  r and b guy out there.
Capital femi? r and b is not just a good brand, is a great brand, we artiste doing it just need to keep delivering good music,  It is the production, people still listen to r and b, people listen to r kelly, neyo, go to the street they know all this guys.
what define a good r and b artiste ? any music  you do from your soul, from your heart and you talk from your soul,  r and b talks about relationship, talk about a lot of things that relate with people.
what do you thinks is responsible for the decline in r and b music there is no decline, we just need to improve on the production so the concept of the song we do meet with the production.
What kind of guy is capital femi ?
capital femi : capital femi is a simple guy, love guy,   loves  doing what he loves to do which is r and b music .
why is most r and b acts tagged cassonova ?
capital femi : capital femi is a love guy, he love love just like r and b acts love love
which artiste influenced your music ?
capital femi : a  of people influenced my music  from micheal Jackson, brian mack knight to r Kelly, donell jones, even tuface influence my music, I love old sound like steven wonder, ojs, al green.
what would you love to see change about Nigerian music ?
CAPITAL FEMI we need to change the structure, we need a structure where the artiste are been taking care of , the music industry is a billion dollar empire, there is money to be made from it,  i think we just need to have the right law for it.
